My career to date has been challenging and insightful, varied and colourful!
I graduated from the London College of Fashion with a degree in Journalism and started my career working as a researcher / producer for both independent production companies and the BBC.
My career took a different route when I had my two lovely children and I decided to change the way I worked, I became my own boss. I went back to college and gained my second professional qualification in photography. Ten years ago I set up my first photography business, and have really never looked back.
My profession has taken me to many places, events abroad, weird and wonderful conventions, celebrity shoots, and sporting events to name a few.
A highlight of my career was the huge privilege of being part of the official team at the London Olympic and Paralympic Games 2012. As Studio Manager I oversaw operations at four photographic studios within the Olympic park. Managing a team of 100 staff, I was responsible for the day-to-day management of the official Olympic torch portraits… a truly unforgettable experience.
I spent a year as Studio Manager at Center Parcs Longleat, and was responsible for implementing sales and marketing strategies to generate and secure sales in order to meet revenue targets. I ran and coordinated camera, studio and printing equipment operations and handled technical and staffing issues in demanding and pressurised situations.
Besides my Photographic work I have always kept my hand in the world of media and publishing. For the past five years I have had the incredible privilege of working very closely with Professor Sir Terry Pratchett OBE.
I was responsible for managing the day to day running of the Pratchett office; collaborating directly with Sir Terry Pratchett and his Business Manager regarding works in progress, research, proofreading drafts, dictation and editing. I liaised regularly with Publishers, Agents, Producers, Publicists and Journalists to maintain effective communications on behalf of Sir Terry.
A key achievement during this time was when I played a significant role in the production of one of Sir Terry's novels - Dodger; through researching and compiling the dictated content provided by the author to create a finished manuscript.
I successfully safeguarded the Pratchett brand; protecting Sir Terry from external intrusion, and single-handedly organised and coordinated a care-plan during the latter stages of his illness.
He is greatly missed.
Last year I bought Studio 11, and have spent the last few months turning a tired studio into a luxury brand.
My vision is to provide a unique high-end photographic experience to my clients.
I am often asked ‘What is your Unique Selling Point?’
My response is quite simply ‘Me!’
I am a natural people person, a confident communicator, and 100% professional. I have had a fantastically varied career history, and have a huge passion and drive to give my clients perfection, starting with the studio experience and ending with the results.
